Parthenon and Pantheon

Parthenon and Pantheon Name University of the People   Parthenon and Pantheon The Pantheon is a former Roman temple, it was built in 27 BC. It is the best preserved Ancient Roman monument, mostly because it has always been in use since it was built. The Pantheon has the world’s largest unreinforced dome and is also the oldest standing domed structure in Rome. Many historians believe that Emperor Augustus right hand, Agrippa, built the first Pantheon in 27 BC, in the region of Augustus. Since the 7th century, it has been used as a Roman Catholic Church (Pantheon n.d.). On the other hand, Parthenon used to be a temple in the middle of the Acropolis built between 447 BC and 432 BC in Athens. The Parthenon was directed by the Athenian statesman Percilieous and was built by the architects Ictinus and Callicrates. It is considered one of the ancient world’s greatest cultural moments and Greek's greatest architectural accomplishments. The Parthenon is now a museum (Parthenon n.d.). Ther...
Effect of the French Revolution on paintings University of the People   The French Revolution stretched from 1789 to 1799. The French Revolution not only brought political and social changes but also influenced French art. In this assignment, I will discuss the effects the French Revolution had on the paintings during the Neoclassical and the Romantic Period. Before the Neoclassic Period, Aristocrats preferred Rococo style paintings. The Rococo style was meant to represent the aristocratic power and wealthy subjects. Blue Boy (below) Figure 1Blue Boy Created in 1770 by Thomas Gainsborough is a perfect example of a Rococo style painting. It portrays graceful elegance in their subject. The style pays attention to texture and details of the dress as well as the financial status of the subject. As we can see the painting completely ignores the lower class people. Peasants and the poor urban citizens had to pay the heavy taxes placed upon them. The lower class citizens were desperate ...
Construct a grid in which you cross two TtIi individuals. F1 = TtIi Gametes T, t, I, i. F2 TI Ti tI ti TI TTII TTTi TtII TtIi Ti TTIi TTii TtIi Ttii tI TtII TtIi ttII ttIi ti TtIi Ttii ttIi ttii You cross the dwarf and tall plants and then self-cross the offspring. For best results, this is repeated with hundreds or even thousands of pea plants. What special precautions should be taken in the crosses and in growing the plants? We should make sure that the F1 generation is allowed to self-pollinate. We should make sure that the F1 generation do not pollinate with a true breeding plant/pure breed pant. You observe the following plant phenotypes in the F2 generation: 2706 tall/inflated, 930 tall/constricted, 888 dwarf/inflated, and 300 dwarf/constricted. Reduce these findings to a ratio and determine if they are consistent with Mendelian laws. tall/inflated: tall/constricted: dwarf/inflated: dwarf/constricted in a 9:3:3:1 ratio 2706/300 = 9.02 930/300 = 3.1 888/300 = 2.96 300/300 = ...

Assignment Unit 7   • What is a challenge to reporting to more than one manager in a matrix organization? What might be a benefit? In a matrix, structure Employees are generally accountable to more than one boss. There are two kinds of managers: functional manager and project manager. Some of the benefits of Matrix structure are: It improves the ability for employees to access all resources. It increases communication and coordination across the business. It allows multi-skilled employees to work to their full potential. It also makes it easier for the manager to access multi skilled employees from across their organization. However, there are some drawbacks to this structure too, example, the matrix organization structure is complex and some employees may be confused as to who their supervisor is. The dual authority may even cause division among employees and managers. Two authoritative voices can cause miscommunication leading to ineffective communication. • What do you think are th...
1. If the terminal side of a 330 degree angle intersects a unit circle, what would the coordinates at the point of intersection? The angle 330° is conterminal with the an angle of -30° in the fourth quadrant. It forms a triangle with the hypotenuse of 1 X coordinate is equal to the cosine of -30° Y coordinate is equal to the sine of -30° So the coordinates are (√3/2, -1/2) 2. Solve for x: 3 + cos 2x = 7/2; only include answers on [0, 2π] 3 + cos 2x = 7/2 Subtract 3 from both sides Cos 2x = 1/2 Cosine function is positive in st adn 4rt quadrant So the angles are π/3 and 5π/3 Now, we go around unit circle twice because our angle is 2x Adding 2π or 6π/3 to each angle 7π/3 and 11π/3 Divide them by 2 Angles that satisfy the equation are π/6 5π/6 7π/3 11π/3 3. Verify the following identity by using an angle sum identity: cos (2x) = 1 – 2(sin2x). Hint (2x = x + x) Using the angle sum formula, cos(x+x) = cosxcosx - sinxsinx = cos2x - sin2x. cos2x + sin2x = 1, rearrage it cos2x =...

Uni versity of the people homework

In this assignment we are going to study The Factors that have the most influence over work behavior from the Book “Management Principles” by Carpenter M., and Bauer T., Erdogan B. We will compare all these factors to the approaches SAS a major software company takes towards its employees. The Five Factors that have the strongest influence over work behavior are Job performance, Organizational Citizenship, Absenteeism and Turnover. Job performance basically refers to the level in which employees complete all the task or factors included in the job description. The way one can measure job performance is through quality and quantity of work done by an employee, the time it took to complete the job, and how well and accurately the job was completed etc. (Carpenter, Bauer & Erdogan, n.d.). A real life example to measure job performance would be to keep track of the number of sales made by a Sales employees, number of clients an employee brings to the company. Job performance helps to...
